8 City initiatives to contribute to the transformation of Cali with a view to The World Games 2013 were proposed to the private and public sector during an executive breakfast held at the headquarters of The Society of Public Improvements (Sociedad de Mejoras Públicas). The meeting was attended by leaders of The World Games 2013 Cali headed by the Executive Director, Pascual Guerrero and business sector representatives such as compensation funds, banks, public services companies and the Multisectoral Group.
Julian Gomez, Coordinator of the Promotion Committee, gave a positive balance and indicated that several companies were willing to support the initiatives to place Cali in the civic map once more.
"We are very interested in being part of the promotional campaign for The World Games 2013. I think it’s a strategic opportunity for reinforcing Cali as Capital and to re-dimension it in the Latin American context” said Jose Alberto Tejada, Executive of CECAN and Global TV.
The President of the Society of Public Improvements, Nicolas Ramos said "Games in all cities of the world are an excuse to improve the cities; Cali needs to be an excellent Civic City again".
The World Speed Skating Champion Andres Felipe Muñoz also attended this event. He was recognized for his sports achievements and for representing Colombia to the world.
The 8 City Initiatives presented by Gustavo Muñoz, President of the Multisectoral Group, consist on civic campaigns about urban and cultural policies in order to awaken sense of belonging to Cali, since The World Games are the second most important sports event after the Olympics.
