PACOM HOSTS FIRST JOINT ENLISTED LEADER SEMINAR
CAMP H.M. SMITH, Hawaii (December 14, 2005) - More than 100 senior enlisted leaders from all service branches will convene today at the first U.S. Pacific Command Joint Enlisted Leader Seminar here December 14-15.
Army Command Sergeant Major William J. Gainey, Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, a newly created position established to advise the Chairman on matters of professional development of enlisted personnel for a joint environment, will give a Department of Defense (DOD) overview on current senior enlisted initiatives. Navy Admiral William J. Fallon, Commander, U.S. PACOM, will also address the group.
The seminar will address the Partner Nations Enlisted Leadership Development program, established to create and train enlisted personnel in some of the U.S. allied nations. Additional topics will include security cooperation from the Department of Defense level down to the theater security program, overviews from different commands, areas of operation, and initiatives like the Global War on Terrorism, homeland security, and tsunami relief.
